PROBLEM:

The BMW plastic clutch pivot pin fails or wears out prematurely in some cases, especially if the car has a high performance clutch or is driven hard. The temperature in the bell housing increases the radiant heat from the clutch disc and the pressure plate transfers it to the clutch fork causing failure or excessive wear of plastic pin.

BENEFIT:

This AGA pivot pin is made of silicon bronze. It offers superior wear characteristics, especially in high heat and high performance clutch applications where plastic easily fails.

These instructions are for experienced technicians only. This job should only be done by an experienced technician. If instructions are need to remove stock components refer to All Data, Mitchel or Factory Manual.

STEP 1

To install the pin, simply place pin in hole. Place socket that fits over dome without touching the end of pin. 13mm 12 point socket works well for this. Lightly tap socket with extension until the pin is fully seated. It is normal for the pin to fit tight.

DO NOT hit end of pin with a hammer, punch extension, etc
